This online training event aims to really put you in touch with the issues faced by autistic people, their parents and carers; and to offer ways of working with them that will both improve your knowledge and increase your confidence.
The course will cover:

- Diagnosis of autism
- Current thinking and legislation relating to autism
- Some of the characteristics and behaviours exhibited by autistic people
- Why environment, language and sensory issues are so important in this area of work
- Barriers in society for people on the autism spectrum and their families, and ways to support them to overcome them.
- Best practice strategies for working with autistic people and their families.
