Managing Sickness Absence
Usual course length: 1-2 days

- Examining ways of preventing high levels of sickness absence
- The legislative requirements for managing sickness reasonably
- Appropriately discussing and resolving absence issues with staff
- Managerial responsibilities regarding employee's health, and avoiding breaching the Data Protection Act 1998 when collecting, using and storing information about their employees’ absence
- Deciding when specialist HR advice might be needed
