Training to Improve Management Within Social Care


Anti-Bullying Practice

Usual course length: 1-2 days

Bullying of and by children and young people can have devastating consequences for schools, residential settings, community groups, Young Offender Institutions, Secure Children's Units and other settings and groups.

The first day focuses on defining and uncovering bullying and on devising a whole institution anti-bullying policy. The second focuses on identifying and working with bullies and victims.

Courses can be tailor-made from the following elements:

  • Defining and uncovering bullying behaviours
  • Recognising victims, recognising bullies
  • Changing the bully’s behaviour
  • Assertiveness exercises
  • The role of adults in bullying
  • Forming a comprehensive anti-bullying policy
